Classic Solitaire Online

Solitaire โ€” also known as Klondike or Patience โ€” is the single-player card game that's been a desktop staple for decades. This version runs entirely in your browser: shuffle a fresh deck, drag or tap cards into place, and pick up exactly where you left off with reliable undo and a running timer. It's built to feel like a real game, not a demo โ€” smooth on desktop with a mouse, and just as playable on a phone with a fingertip.

How to Play Solitaire

Seven columns are dealt from a shuffled 52-card deck, with only the top card of each column face-up. The goal is to move every card onto one of the four foundations, sorted by suit from Ace up to King. Tap or click a card to select it, then tap or click where you want it to go โ€” or drag it directly, both on desktop and touch devices. Clicking the stock draws a new card into the waste pile; once the stock is empty, clicking it again recycles the waste back into a fresh stock.

Solitaire Rules

  • Build tableau columns downward in alternating colors โ€” for example, a black 9 onto a red 10.
  • Only a King (or a valid sequence starting with a King) can be placed into an empty column.
  • Foundations build upward by suit, starting with the Ace and ending with the King.
  • Any face-up sequence that's properly ordered can be moved together as a group.
  • When a column's top card is moved away, the next card underneath flips face-up automatically.

Klondike Solitaire Strategy

Uncover hidden cards early rather than rushing to fill the foundations โ€” a buried Ace or King can stall an otherwise winnable game. Empty columns are valuable: try to clear one to give yourself somewhere to park a King and unlock the sequence beneath it. Work through the stock methodically, and use undo to explore a line of play rather than restarting the whole deal when a move doesn't pan out the way you expected.
